Homework Centre
Engadine High School runs a Homework Help Centre each Thursday from 3.05- 5.00 pm in the school library.
Supervision and assistance from teachers is provided or students may just choose to use the computer and library resources. It is not compulsory to attend each week but all students are welcome as many times as they like. We feel this affords students the opportunity to utilise school resources and staff expertise.
Mathematics staff also provide a tutorial service in the Homework Centre. This gives students an opportunity to enhance their knowledge of key concepts that may have eluded them during class. It also provides opportunity for those students who wish to hone their Mathematical skills or students who may lack confidence to regularly seek help in a normal classroom environment.
This has been a fantastic initiative of our dedicated Head Teacher Learning Support, Mrs Hooker and we trust that the efforts of all staff will be valued. Remember it is also an environment in which they can complete their homework in relative isolation, free from unwanted distractions.
