Personal Development, Health and Physical Education
All students must satisfactorily complete the Compulsory Year 7 – 10 program for the award of a School Certificate. In this course students learn about:

Self and Relationships – students learn about sense of self, adolescence and change, sources of personal support and the nature of positive, caring relationships.

Movement Skill and Performance – students explore the elements of composition as they develop and refine specialised movement skills in a variety of contexts.

Individual and Community Health – students learn about the specific health issues of mental health, healthy food habits, sexual health, drug use and road safety. They examine risk, personal safety and how to access health information, products and services.

Lifelong Physical Activity – students consider lifestyle balance and the importance of physical activity and its physical benefits.
Students learn to participate successfully in a wide range of activities and to adopt roles that promote a more active community.

Stage 6 (Years 11-12)
Year 11 – 1 unit Sport, Lifestyle and Recreation (SLR)
Sport, Lifestyle and Recreation (SLR) allows students to build upon their learning in Years 7-10 PDHPE. Specifically, it focuses on those aspects that relate most closely to participation in sport and physical activity.
Year 11 and 12 - 2 unit Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE)
PDHPE complements the study of Physics, Chemistry and Biology through exploring the critical processes, influences, inhibiters and outcomes of movement. It looks at the contextual stressors and trends of health and exercise within the broader community. PDHPE assesses students through multiple choice, short answer and extended responses.
Preliminary Course - Year 11
Year 11 students study each of the following:
- Core Topics: Meaning of Health and Physical activity, Better Health for Individuals and the Body in Motion (60%)
- Optional Components (40%).
Students study the following options, First Aid and Fitness Choices.
HSC Course - Year 12
Year 12 students study each of the following:
- Core Topics: Health Priorities in Australia Factors affecting performance (60%).
- Optional Components (40%).
Students study the following options, The Health of Young People and Sports Medicine; Improving performance.
