Performing Arts Program
Engadine High School has won a prestigious Director-General's Award for its outstanding performing arts program. We have a long history of success in Rock Eisteddfod, Senses Alive, Band, Dance and Drama ensembles and most recently, have been awarded national champions of the Wakakiri Story Dance competition in 2007 and 2008 and in 2009, we came 2nd in NSW in Rock Eisteddfod Raw.
In 2010, our dancers toured Shanghai, Yangzhou, Guanzhou and Zengzhou in China. A highlight was a visit to our sister school in Yangzhou. In 2011, the Band toured Hollywood, performing at Disneyland, Universal Studioes, Santa Monica Pier and Madam Tussard's on Hollywood Bvd.
Students may elect to participate in any of the following extra-curricular performing arts programs:
- Junior Dance Ensemble
- Senior Dance Ensemble
- Film making
- Rock Eisteddfod
- Drama Ensemble
- Drama groups for school performances
- Music, dance and vocal groups for school performances
- Schools Spectacular
- Show Band
- Stage Band
- Vocal group
- Back stage crew
- Engadine Idol is held in December every year.
All students are welcome to join. These activities are in addition to our mainstream curriculum which offers Music and Visual Arts from Years 7-12 and Dance and Drama from Years 9-12.
We have 4 specialist dance teachers, 4 specialist drama teachers, and 2 teachers of music who all play an energetic role in each of their areas.
