Instrumental and Vocal Music

This program is a core element of our performing arts program at Engadine High School.  It is the largest co-curricular program at the school involving over 100 students from Years 7 – 12.  Our students have enjoyed many successes within the program for over 15 years and have competed at many events nationally and internationally.  Our students have also participated in high profile events for the NSW Department of Education.  The experience our students gain within our ensemble program has allowed many students to gain highly coveted places within the state ensemble programs.

Students are encouraged to participate in any of our ensembles and it is expected that they are committed members of our Concert Bands.  This ensures that they are receiving a comprehensive ensemble education and experience a wide variety of music.  Linkages programs with our local primary schools ensure a smooth transition and excellent retention level with our younger musicians.

Tutors

Private and small group tuition is made available to any student who wishes to learn their instrument within the school. Our tutors include many of Sydney's finest professional musicians and teachers covering all vocals, woodwind, brass and percussion.  We also offer tuition in guitar and bass guitar.  These lessons are available at lunch and after school.
