- Intellectually capable and would benefit from involvement in an innovative enrichment program;
- Able to adapt socially to a variety of new peers; and
- Currently in Year 6 in a local primary school.
The program caters for gifted children by providing challenging activities which broaden their perspective on learning. Activities complement the Stage 3 curriculum with the aim of deepening students’ knowledge and understanding.
The days run as a series of workshops which enable students to be immersed in particular topics and mini-projects. The benefits of the immersion technique allows for in-depth processing of the knowledge to be acquired and higher quality work to be produced. Students are expected to work collaboratively with their peers in completing particular projects.
Focus areas include Science & Technology, Creative & Performing Arts, English and Mathematics and Archaeology.
The program is the joint initiative of public schools in the Heathcote, Helensburgh and Engadine areas.
