40th Anniversary Fete - a memorable event!

Engadine High School Celebrated its 40th anniversary in grand style on the 21st November. Even the heat didn’t stop the Engadine community joining us in recognition of 40 years of quality public education. I especially enjoyed  speaking with students from the class of 1969, who travelled vast distances to tour the school and share their memories.

A crowd favourite was the F1 car race-offs which challenged each racer to score the winning time as they fired the miniature, gas-propelled cars down the track. This was organised by our champion Year 8/9 team who recently won the NSW title.

Testimony to the dedication and commitment of teachers and office staff at Engadine High School is the fact that they spent countless hours organising stalls, creating sweets and cakes with students, and running activities. A special vote of thanks goes to Ms Patane and her team for their superb organisation and to the support from our local Lions and Rotary Clubs.

The evening concert, “A Walk Down Memory Lane”, showcasing our very long history of achievements in the performing arts, was sheer brilliance. The audience was wowed by the talent of our dancers, Concert Band and vocalists. Mrs Denham showed snippets of past Rock Eisteddfod and musical performances, reminiscing about the students and where they are now.

I feel very fortunate to be leading a school with such an enthusiastic , caring team and wonderful students.
