Rock Eisteddfod, Wakakirri and Musicals

Engadine High School is renowned for its success in Performing Arts. In 2007 and 2008, we won the national championships for Wakakirri Story Dance, a competition that included over 400 schools across Australia. From 2009, the organisers of Wakakirri have decided to confine this competition to primary schools. In 2009, we have entered Rock Eisteddfod Raw.

Each year, we choose to embark on a major performance as part of Rock Eisteddfod or a musical. All students are welcome to partipate in a variety of roles which may include dance, drama, painting props or back stage crew. These performances have a positive effect on school climate and students and parents love the opportunity to participate. All of our performances are supported by a wealth of expertise from staff, ex- students and parents.

All major performances provide students in our Entertainment Vocational Education and Training (VET) course, an opportunity to achieve some of the required competencies.
